I was sure I was just being a “drama queen”. After a year of medical stability, I had obviously lost my perspective and was no longer able to distinguish run-of-the-mill muscular pain from a true medical emergency.
The neurologist’s words reverberated around my brain like a bomb. “You aren’t weak; you are just fatigued. IVIGs don’t make you stronger; they just give you more energy.”
The years fell quickly away as I walked through the front doors of the emergency department. It felt like only a few weeks had passed.
